The company's principal activity is to generate, transmit and distribute electricity to approximately 73,500 metered locations in the anchorage and upper kenai peninsula areas. The energy is distributed throughout Alaska's railbelt, with the help of an interconnected regional electrical system. The company provides direct service to retail customers and also supplies power requirements to three wholesale customers, matanuska electric association, homer electric association and the city of seward.
